Only one question remains: Can you survive the night? ![]() Dodge incoming attacks with your hunter's quick step ability, parry enemies with your quicksilver firearm, and transform your trick weapon to tailor your loadout for any encounter in this new, next generation 3D experience that blends RPG and Action in a way you've been seen before. Wield over 10 unique hunter weapons using the Strategic Action Combat system to vanquish your foes. I guess it was easy for me because my first reaction to any boss is to create space between me and them and then go in when they whiff and Gascoigne seems to be a sucker for this method.ĭOUBLE EDIT: I've NEVER used parry in any Soulsborne games except when fighting other players online.Travel to the gothic Victorian city of Yharnam, whose blood-soaked roads are filled with unspeakable terrors hidden behind every corner. He does get a little harder when he transforms but the tactics remain the same. Don't get greedy is the main trick but that's the case with almost every single Soulsborne boss ever. Weird because I would consider the Monster Hunter series much harder than the Soulsbrone games (I think OP was referring to Monster Hunter in his opening post?).ĮDIT: Wow turns out heaps of people are having trouble with Gascoigne? Really, you just keep your distance from him and let him take his wild swings and go in for a couple of hits. I beat Gascoigne on my first try and on the second playthrough (NG+) when I 100% the game I died to him only once. Is this even really a thing? Also I'm not sure if everyone is aware but in almost every Soulsborne game there is a quick get up (kinda like street fighter), basically tap the circle (dodge) button and you will basically do a quick dodge roll instead of waiting for the get up animation.Īlso judging by what the OP said about the Golems in DS2 I'm thinking he's just not very good at these games. I can't remember a single instance when the enemy was able to get cheap hits on me from lying on the ground. But what is with being able to take damage when u can't protect yourself from it? How is that fair to the gamer? Outside of that and the whole "travel back to the main hub to level up" thing, I'm loving bloodborne. So what the hell happened between Bloodborne and the rest of the soul series? Does this bother anyone else? Am I imagining this issue? I'm watching people play DS3 on Twitch and there's so many times where if the game was Bloodborne, the user would die, but in DS3, they don't do this bullshit that Bloodborne does. So what the fuck bloodborne? I just don't get it. If you're down, you're down and you cannot get hit while you're down, because of the invincibility frames. I cannot remember if DS2 allowed BS like this to happen, but i'm sure that DS1 didn't and nor does MH. I died about 20 times to this guy and I'd like to say that at least 1/3 of these deaths came because I was already on the ground after getting hit, and the game still allows the user to take damage when they are unable to protect themself. Outside of the 387 hours i've pumped into MH4U over the past year and change, I really haven't played a game in this genre, and after the trouble I had with DS2, I was amazed how much fun I found Bloodborne. ![]() So I gave up on it, and i'm not sure i'll play it again.Ī week or two later, I pop in Bloodborne, and I kidna fell in love again with this whole genre of "hard games". I must have died 20 times, while attempting to level up enough to get better, but I couldnt deal with a game that essentially trapped me within one area for such a long time, and having to deal with these tough early enemies, and a stupid map that would force you to fall off of it if you backed up too far while trying to avoid an attack. Killing one took forever on its own and I would run out of estus flasks, the second one was very hard to kill to the point where I actually couldn't do it. On top of that, the first area I was in, after the "tutorial" section featured a golem, then another golem, and another golem in succession. I was very early in the game and I hated the stupid change from Dark souls 1 that forced you to fast travel to some "main" bonfire in order to level up. I opened Dark souls a few weeks ago and only managed to play an hour and a half before I gave up. ![]() I picked up bloodborne and dark souls 2 on black friday.
